Duct System Parameters

The Duct system parameters editor shows all the available categories of duct systems. Set parameters before connecting objects in engineering systems for automatic route construction.

To configure the duct system parameters:

  1. Select the Duct system parameters option on the Manage styles – Duct systems menu on the Primary panel.
  2. On the left side of the window, select required duct system category from the list.
  3. On the right side of the window, on the Parameters tab, specify main lines and branch lines parameters:
  4. On the Duct styles tab, check the applicable styles. Set the priority by the Move up and Move down buttons.
  5. On the Duct fitting styles tab, check the applicable duct fittings. Set the priority by the Move up and Move down buttons.
  6. Click OK to apply the ducts and duct fittings to the duct system category.

When you use the Rebuild route command, you can change all the parameters for rebuilding the selected route.

When you use the Place parts on route command, you can change the parameters for selecting duct styles and duct fitting styles.

Parameters

Parameters need to be specified for main lines and branch lines of selected pipe system category separately.

To select duct styles and duct fitting styles for automatic placement on the route set the parameters:

To take into account the position of walls, columns, foundations, beams, doors and windows when building a route, check Take into account enclosing structures when building the route and set the parameters:

When the Take into account enclosing structures when building the route checkbox is selected, the route:

If unchecked, the route will be parallel to the X, Y, and Z axes.

Duct Styles

The tab shows a list of available duct styles. The Material, Connection type and Profile shape parameters match to the values specified on the Parameters tab.

For example, if you select Connection type – Welded on the Parameters tab, the duct styles with the welded connection type only will be shown.

When building ducts on the route, a specific duct style will be chosen, whose nominal diameter matches the nominal diameter of the port connected to the route. If the duct style with a suitable diameter is not marked or the port does not have a nominal diameter, the duct style with the highest priority will be selected.

If the duct and duct fittings on the route are to be insulated, set the Insulation parameter values for the selected ducts. If there is no suitable layered insulation material in the suggested list, you can create a new one in Layered materials editor.

Duct Fitting Styles

The tab shows a list of available duct fitting styles. The Connection type and nominal parameters of the duct fittings match to the values of ducts selected on the Duct styles tab.

For example, if you select a duct style with the Connection type – Welded on the Duct styles tab, the duct fittings with the welded connection type only will be shown.

The duct fittings based on the selected duct styles will be displayed. The Insulation value of the duct fitting will be the same as that of the corresponding duct. When placing fittings that lie on two routes, the Insulation will be assigned as for the pipe located on the Main line.

Automatically are selected fitting styles based on categories with two or more non-collinear ports, such as Сross, Elbow and Tee.
