Axonometric View

The Axonometric View tool allows you to insert an axonometric projection of 3D model into a drawing.

Axonometric view parameters:

View name.

Projection type. Specifies the display and rotation angle of model.

Model view. Turns the model with the necessary side to the viewer.

Orientation axonometric axes. Specifies the observed rotation direction of axes (right – clockwise, left – counterclockwise).

View scale. If there is no required scale on the list, select the Other option and specify ratio in the appeared window.

The Visual style allows you to display an axonometric view in one of the following styles:

  • Wireframe. The axonometric view is displayed with all lines and surfaces in black and white. Object reinforcement is displayed.
  • Monochrome. The axonometric view is displayed with all lines and surfaces in black and white The colors of the lines and hatches correspond to those specified during creation or in the material editor.
  • Color. The axonometric view is displayed in color. The color and hatch of an object depends on the material assigned to the object. If material is not assigned, then the predefined colors are displayed.
  • Textured. The textures assigned to materials are displayed on object surfaces. If there are no textures, the object is displayed as in a colored visual style, but without hatch.

Display style. Allows to display a particular set of objects that are present in a model. The display of objects can be configured differently in various styles.

Filter. Allows to select only those model objects that match to the specified criteria.

Parameters may be modified both in the construction and editing processes.

To insert a view:

  1. On the drawing tab, on the Tools panel, click the Axonometric view tool.
  2. Specify the View name.
  3. Select the Projection type, Model view and its Orientation.
  4. Select the object scale.
  5. Select the visual style and display style the view should be shown in.
  6. Specify Filter if needed.
  7. Specify a view insertion point on the drawing.

Regardless of the chosen display style or filter, the view does not show the designations created in the model, as well as objects without a geometric representation - levels and groups.

View editing means expanding and reducing the view's boundaries, changing its scale and replacing the view itself with a different view. View editing does not include model modification. When editing a model, a view inserted in a drawing is automatically updated.

In order to open the axonometric view for editing or preview from the drawing:

  1. Right-click the view in the drawing.
  2. On the shortcut menu, click Open.
  3. Edit/review the view in a new window.

When you insert view into a drawing, all the snaps and accurate construction are available.

In order to modify, copy or relocate a created view, select it by the Select tool.
