Paste link
The Paste link... 
command allows you to:
- add links to PNG and JPEG image files in model, assembly styles and drawings;
- add links to 3D model files in model and assembly styles in formats:
- 3ds Max 3DS (*.3ds),
- LightWave (*.lwo),
- StereoLithography (*.stl),
- Wavefront object (*.obj),
- COLLADA (*.dae),
- Autodesk FBX (*.fbx),
- C3D (*.c3d),
- STEP (*.stp, *.step)
, - IGES (*.igs, *.iges),
- Parasolid (*.x_t, *.x_b),
- AСIS (*.sat), JT (*.jt),
- VRML (*.wrl).
- add links to drawing files in DWG and DXF formats to the model and drawings.
Interior objects, equipment, entourage objects, terrain objects, construction node drawings stored in separate files can be added to the project using links.
File information is stored in the project. However, files are not part of the project. When collaborating and sharing a project with other users, share files with the project.
All links that are pasted into the project are displayed in the Links editor. To add a new category, use 
Manage styles –

Image link in a drawing
To paste an image link to a drawing:
- Open the drawing where you want to add the image.
- On the Primary panel, select the Paste – Paste link...
- Select a file and click Open.
- Set image parameters:
Image position relative to axis. Each option on the drop-down list shows how the image will be located relative to the insertion point.
Image horizontal offset. X axis offset relative to insertion point of image. Can be negative.
Image vertical offset. Y axis offset relative to insertion point of image. Can be negative.
Link name. Displays the link name defined in Links editor.
Uniform scale.
Image width.
Image height.
Image rotation angle.
- Specify an image insertion point on the drawing.
Reference drawing in a drawing
To paste an reference drawing link to a drawing:
- Open the drawing where you want to add the reference drawing.
- On the Primary panel, select the Paste – Paste link...
- Select a file and click Open.
- Set reference drawing parameters:
Reference drawing position relative to axis. Each option on the drop-down list shows how the reference drawing will be located relative to the insertion point.
Reference drawing horizontal offset. X axis offset relative to insertion point of reference drawing. Can be negative.
Reference drawing vertical offset. Y axis offset relative to insertion point of reference drawing. Can be negative.
Link name. Displays the link name defined in Links editor.
Scale.
Reference drawing rotation angle.
- Specify an insertion point on the drawing.

Image link in a model
To paste an image link to a model:
- In the 3D View, Assembly style or Level tab on the Primary panel, select the Paste – Paste link...
- Select a file and click Open.
- Set image parameters:
Image position relative to axis. Each option on the drop-down list shows how the image will be located relative to the insertion point.
Image horizontal offset. X axis offset relative to insertion point of image. Can be negative.
Image vertical offset. Y axis offset relative to insertion point of image. Can be negative.
Link name. Displays the link name defined in Links editor.
Uniform scale.
Image width.
Image height.
Precession.
Nutation.
Spin angle.
Level. It determines image level.
Vertical offset. Determines the vertical offset of image relatively to the insertion point.
- Specify the insertion point.
3D-model link
To paste a 3D-model link:
- In the 3D View, Assembly style or Level tab on the Primary panel, select the Paste – Paste link...
- Select a file and click Open.
- Set 3D Model parameters:
3D Model position relative to axis. Each option on the drop-down list shows how the 3D Model will be located relative to the insertion point. If
Default is selected, the 3D model is positioned relative to the insertion point as it is relative to the origin in the source file. 3D Model horizontal offset. X axis offset relative to insertion point of 3D Model. Can be negative.
3D Model vertical offset. Y axis offset relative to insertion point of 3D Model. Can be negative.
Link name. Displays the link name defined in Links editor.
3D Model orientation. The initial orientation of a 3D Model depends on the tool in which it was created. Scale. Precession.
Nutation.
Spin angle.
Level. Determines the 3D Model level.
Vertical offset. Determines the vertical offset of the 3D Model relatively to the insertion point.

Reference drawing link in a model
To paste an reference drawing link to a model:
