Connections Determining and Route Building

The route construction of pipe, duct or electrical system in Renga depends on the Pipe system parameters, Duct system parameters or Electical system parameters:

  1. Route height. The route will be built at the specified height.
  2. Offset.
    • The Pipe/Electrical route will be built with an offset from the building constructions equal to the specified one.
    • The duct route will be built with an offset from the building structures greater than or equal to the specified one.
  3. Object styles. The parameters of pipes, ducts or electical conductors are taken into account when constructing the route.

The route of any system:

The duct route is built with a minimum number of turns.

Before determining the connections, check the height of the connection points of the equipment in the 3D view to avoid the extra route vertices building.

To determine the connections and build a route between objects:

  1. In 3D View, select the objects that have to be connected by a route.
  2. Right-click the object and select Select in system > System name on the shortcut menu.
  3. Drag the tab out of the tab bar and drop it onto one of the small squares that appear in the interface.
  4. In the system tab set route parameters:

System style. Defines the designation and color of the system.

Slope. Available for pipe and duct systems. The slope is set for the entire section of the route and defines the location of pipes and ducts on the horizontal sections of the route. The direction of the slope depends on the route building direction, pipes and air ducts are laid from bottom to top in the route building direction.

The route parameters in the system tab can be set only before construction. To edit the parameters of the built route section, select the route in 3D View and edit the parameters.

The maximum slope is 87.4 %, to set a higher slope edit the route with the handles.

  5. Set the system parameters that are appropriate for the future section of the route (see Pipe system parameters, Duct system parameters or Electical system parameters).
  6. Move the pointer onto an object's connection point . When you hold the pointer onto the equipment connection point, a hint with additional info appears.
  7. Left-click the connection point and move the pointer onto the connection point of another object or any spot on a route.
  8. Please note: in Electrical systems you can build a route between objects only. The connection of object and piece of route is not available.

  9. Left-click to finish the construction.
  10. The route will be automatically built in the model. Check the result in 3D View, rebuild the route with other parameters or edit the route if necessary.

If it is not possible to build an object, such as a pipe on a route, a sign will be displayed notifying that the object cannot be built: . This means that the object must be edited using handles or its style must be changed.

The amount of connection points depends on the object category.

Every route has an arrow indicator that shows the route building direction. The route building irection determines the default direction of the parts.

The Commands panel is intended to manage objects and routes.

Select in model. Shows a selected object on the 3D view tab.

Rebuild route. Rebuilds a route. Can be used after making changes.

Place parts on route. Automatically places new pipes/ducts and their parts on the route according to the system parameters.

Detach route. Detaches a selected object from a route.

Flip. Changes the direction of building the route.

Hide. Hides a selected object or route.

Isolate. Isolates a selected object or route.

Show All. Shows all the hidden objects and routes.

Arrange. Organizes selected objects according to their location on 3D view. The location depends on the object base level and distance from the origin on the 3D view.

Select. The command is intended to select objects by using filters.

Hide. The command is intended to hide objects by using filters.

Isolate. The command is intended to isolate objects by using filters.

To copy or move the created route, Select in model the route and the connected equipment.

Use 3D measure modes to copy or relocate a route between levels.
